A little flame can spread far and wide. A flame loses nothing by giving its light to another candle. In the same way, we lose nothing by sharing our faith with others. It is only strengthened.

When the stakes are so high, this call can seem discouraging. In those times we need a reminder of the call and the promise we’ve been given. In The Message, the end of Matthew 28 is translated this way:

“Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.”

The command to us is clear: we need to go and tell people about God. If you’ve been reading this site for a while, you already know that God does not ask us to do this in our own strength. The Holy Spirit lives in us, empowering us and guiding us.

(If you’re not familiar with the idea of Spirit-Filled living, you can learn about it here.)

So now that you know what to do and you know that God gives you all the resources you need to do it, how do you get started? There are a couple of great challenges called Discover Your Story and Share Your Story that will teach you how to share your faith story in a clear and compelling way. This is the first step of multiplication. We show up, and God does the heavy lifting.

Who needs to hear your story today?
