Anyone who fishes can tell you that learning the ins and outs of proper technique — how to knot, bait, and cast — is essential to reeling in that big catch. But learning about it just isn’t enough. You’ve got to get out there and do it.

The same goes for evangelism. We can read and talk about it all we want, but there comes a time when knowledge isn’t enough: it’s time to act.

Though sharing your faith might sound intimidating, there’s a peace in knowing that it’s not your job to convert anyone; that’s entirely up to God. Romans 8:14 says, “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.”

What God does require of you is that you step out in faith, and allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you as you start to have spiritual conversations. If you put yourself out there, connect with people, and really listen to them, God will show you what to say. And the more you do that, the more natural it will become.
