“Three times a bridesmaid, never a bride” rang in my ears. Although I was thrilled to stand beside some of the best women I have ever known, I still felt the fear of being left behind.
The church, they keep telling me, is all about community. That’s a lovely idea but it has not been my experience. I don’t expect the church to cater to the minority, but it would be nice to be considered, even just a little.
Ok, here it goes. This is what I realized this morning: no man has ever pursued me. Which means that no man has ever truly known me or loved me, even the man I call my husband.
In a world of couples, being single can be tough. But that doesn’t mean they have to be left out of ministry, volunteer work, or living a full and purposeful life.
