Superhydrophobic coating repels almost any liquid. It is truly amazing! Just look at the guys blasted by buckets of mud. The treated man is left completely untouched, while the untreated man is left totally filthy. No matter what material they throw, the liquids just roll right off. Regardless of what sticky substance they use — ketchup, mustard, egg, or paint — there is never even a faint stain.
Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross is like that for us. When a person receives his gift of forgiveness, condemnation for all sin just rolls right off — past, present, and future! It has nothing to do with the material of the person who is coated by Jesus’ forgiveness, but has everything to do with the perfection of what they are coated with — the blood and righteousness of Jesus Christ.
The Bible contrasts the effectiveness of sacrifices made by Jewish priests and the sacrifice made by our great high priest, Jesus:
“Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.... For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy” Hebrews 10:11-12,14 (emphasis mine).
The perfection that comes from Jesus’ sacrifice has no end even though those who have been made perfect are still in the process of “being made holy.” What makes us perfect is not what we do, but what Jesus did on our behalf. His infinite perfection cannot be stained by our imperfections. If we have put our trust in Jesus’ death to pay the penalty for sin, we can be confident that sins from our past, our present, and our future, are forgiven all because of the perfection of Jesus’ sacrifice.
Then why do so many people feel defeated and discouraged in their relationship with Jesus? Why do they continue to be full of guilt over habitual sins?
The Bible points out that when we rely on our own ability to do the right thing, we just end up falling into more sin. That’s because Jesus is no longer the central focus of our lives. We are. In the same way that we need Jesus to rescue us from the penalty of death that comes from our sin, we need his Holy Spirit to rescue us from the temptations we face every day. We do that by focusing our attention on him and following his leading in our lives. “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16). What a great promise! The more we focus our attention on the Spirit and trust him to direct our lives, the less we will find ourselves falling into patterns of sin.
**If all our sins are already forgiven, then what’s the point of confession? **
While sin in our life does not stain the perfect coating of Jesus' forgiveness on our lives, it does get in the way of a healthy relationship with God and our ability to reflect his perfect character. Sin is like a bruise on an apple; if it doesn’t get cut out it will spread and spoil more and more of the fruit. Confession is the process that God uses to cut the sin out of our lives and to refine the character of Jesus in us. King David was a man who was quick to acknowledge his sin before God; he trusted God to deal with his sin and to make his relationship with God healthy again. Psalm 41 shows how God responds to confession: “O LORD, have mercy on me; heal me, for I have sinned against you…. In my integrity you uphold me and set me in your presence forever” (Psalm 41:4,11). The integrity that David refers to is his honest confession of his sin. David was identified as "a man after the LORD’s heart" (1Samuel 13:14), not because he was sinless, but because he was quick to confess and to repent. “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise” (Psalm 51:17).
Confession is also how we acknowledge that we were depending on our own abilities rather than focusing on the Spirit’s leading. We realign our attention on to God and submit to his Spirit’s guidance for our next steps. Dr. Bill Bright referred to confession as Spiritual Breathing: exhaling the guilt of our sin through confession, and then inhaling the power of the Spirit by depending on his leading (see the step-by-step description below if you want to try it!).
Even though our past, present, and future sins are perfectly dealt with by the sacrifice of Jesus, that does not mean that, like the superhydrophobic coating video, we should just throw all manner of sins at our lives to prove that none of them will stick. The author of Hebrews goes on to write, “Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus… let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings… And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds” (Hebrews 10:19, 22, 24). The sacrifice Jesus has made should motivate us to avoid sin and live a life that is pure. Not because we are afraid of losing our forgiveness, but because we want to reflect the character of Jesus more and more. That is true freedom!

I think people who have a problem with gay people will go to hell way before gay people will..i belive a gay person will get into heaven way quicker than a person that judges gay people!!... people that judge Gays are not acting out of love but out of hate and your supposed to love everyone!...how can someone dislike a person for loving someone of the same sex?? When your supposed to love everyone? Why would God keep the rainbow as his promise to us that he wouldn't flood the world again when he knew that one day the rainbow would represent Gay people??? Idk..I just belive nobody has the right to judge anyone but God. And a loving gay person is gonna be accepted by Jesus before a judgmental hateful "christian" because u cant enter the kingdombwith hate and judgements in your heart, Jesus accepts everyone who accepts him in their hearts whether they or gay or straight!!
So maybe we need to be more accepting and loving of people for who they are! Jesus died for all our sins ..even Gay peoples!! I Just felt like that needed to be said for someone to hear you will know if its meant for you!!...I had so much more I Wanted to say ..but apparently I'm meant too stop here because my mind is now completely blank God bless, bless and be blessed. Love one another. And stop asking God to change people ask him to change you!!!

As a Christian I definitely agree with this article. I am doing a Bible study paper for school on the book of 1 John, and this article helped with my understanding of forgiveness. I would like to say that even though we are forgiven for every sin ever, we continue to want to stop sinning because we love God. God is the righteousness and purity that we seek, and thus decide to be like Him because He told us to and we love Him enough to listen. Thank you for posting this, as I said earlier it really helped me :)

Let's make this simple.
In Matthew 16:13–16 (and Mark 8:27–29; Luke 9:18–20) Jesus asks the Apostles who do they say that he is? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
This is unarguably proof that Peter was saved. If you do not believe that he was saved at that time, please respond with your evidence as to why?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now in Matthew 10:33, Jesus states: But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. And in Matthew 26:69-75, Peter denies Jesus not once, not twice, but three times.
So according to Matthew 10:33, that would unarguably mean that Peter would NOT inherit eternal life, even though he had been saved. If you do not believe that, please respond with your evidence as to why?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please do not dilute your response with a multitude of ambiguous clobber verses.
Or respond that nobody can know who will join Jesus in heaven. Because that response is also incorrect.
We do know for a fact that the good thief inherited eternal life.
Please just provide your evidence that a saved Peter, who denied Jesus before men, was still guaranteed eternal life after that denial.

To correctly interpret the NT you must first understand the meaning of the words as they were first written down by
the authors in Koine Greek.
https://www.biblica.com/res...
And here's a link that explains the difference between verb tenses of English and Greek.
http://www.ntgreek.org/lear...
Therefore, true meaning of John 10:28 is explained below:
Who is Jesus talking about in v 28? Verse 27 gives the answer, ‘My sheep’. What do his sheep do?
1. They ‘hear my voice’
2. ‘I know them’
3. ‘They follow me’.
Let’s exegete these statements:
1. ‘Hear’ is present tense, i.e. they continuously hear Jesus’ voice.
2. ‘Know’ is present tense, i.e. Jesus continuously knows them.
3. ‘Follow’ is present tense, i.e. they continuously follow Jesus.
THEREFORE, what is the result? ‘I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand’ By the way, ‘give’ in this verse is present tense in Greek, so it means Jesus ‘continuously gives’ eternal life.
John 10:27 in the Greek text makes it crystal clear that those who continuously enjoy eternal life, will never perish
and nobody will snatch them out of Jesus’ hands. These are those who continuously hear, continuously know, and
continuously follow Jesus.
John 10:28 does not apply to those who once believed or believed for a short or slightly longer period of time, and
then stopped believing.
We can also apply this understanding of the Greek present tense to John 5:24: ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears [present tense] my word and believes [present tense] him who sent me has [present tense] eternal life. He does not come into judgement, but has passed from death to life’.
Therefore the verse means that those who hear Jesus’ word and continue to believe him continue to have eternal
life. The verse does not teach that a person who once believed and no longer believes has eternal life. Eternal life is for those who continue to believe. That’s what the Greek teaches because the Greek present tense is not equivalent to the English present tense.

Yes, OSAS is a very desirable belief to comfort those that cannot resist temptation. But it is not biblical.

man, there is some ignorant comments here.
some of you don't know about rightly dividing the Word (2 Tim 2:15)
you think the entire Bible applies to you - it doesn't. You take word of Jesus meant for his Kingdom and try to apply it for today.
Too many people here ignore Pauls words of forgiveness - it is complete - forgiveness of ALL sins, past tense, done deal. how many sins is ALL - its ALL. Covered by the blood.
Please don't quote 1 John 1:9 !!! A verse not for today.
Someone mentioned Hebrews 10:16-17. Thats clearly "after those days"... after the time when His enemies are made his footstool... after the time Jesus stands again (he is sitting now to the right of his Father's throne) to come to earth and sit on His Throne (David's throne) in the earthly Kingdom. After the trib. Before armageddon. THATS when he makes a new covenant with his people and writes his laws in their hearts - DID HE MAKE A NEW COVENANT with each of us when we got saved? No. So that verse didn't apply to a Body of Christ believer when they got saved.
Man, someone said sins were forgiven ONLY PAST sins when you get saved. Quoted the Vine and John. Thats Kingdom teaching - not Pauline teaching. Guys got to know the diff. Paul IS THE WORD of God - truth - can't ignore it just because your denomination didn't teach it. Paul said he is OUR APOSTLE. He is our model. Its in the Word - its truth - believe it.
Thats why there's so much wrong doctrine nowadays. I can't even take hours to read this whole thread. Ridiculous. Learn about Kingdom teaching (Jesus) vs. Pauline epistles (which many churches and the Catholics ignore) - thats the doctrine for the Body of Christ in the age of Grace which is today. Blessings to you all. Listen to messages about Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth: gpindy.net shorewoodbiblechurch.org

Enough people!! Drop the subject. If after 1500 years the question hasn't been settled by the foremost Christian clergy in history, what makes you think any of us can settle it. This is one of those subjects Paul warned us to avoid, like endless geneologies. Why concentrate on a subject which divides believers when we are in a time where unity is paramount. Our beliefs, churches and organizations are under attack by atheists and communists intent on destroying us because of our anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQRSTUV ad nauseum anti-radical feminism Biblical stances. Churches are going woke and accepting Progressive ideas. Now, more than almost any other time in US history, the believing church needs to stand united against this assault on our freedom of religion. The time for petty bickering over doctrine which is not part of our fundamental beliefs is over.
It seems to me that the people who should be concerned with this issue are those who want to live like they always have, but want fire insurance.
Those who continue to live a sinful life will find out some day if eternal security was real. Before then, nobody can know. Only God knows the heart.

I think we need to define these three terms. Forgiveness- done deal on the cross- all our sins, past present future. Repentance- is not asking forgiveness but in greek it is defined as "metanoia" as a change of mind. Meta- change, Noia- mind= change of mind no more no less. Even God repented and it was used in the old testament as "relent". When the people of Israel repented, God relented.
Confession- you agree with God that you have sinned, it is not asking forgivenesd but simply agreeing with God. After you confessed and be feel sorry for your sin, receive God's forgiveness because our sins had been dealt with already on the cross. There is no now condemnation of those who are in Christ Jesus. (Rom. 8:1) But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you HOLY in his sight, without blemish and FREE from ACCUSATIONS. (Col. 2:22)
Hebrews 8:12- He will remember our sins no more.

Is it possible there are millions upon millions of people out there that 'think' they are saved but not saved? To be Born Again, you must accept Jesus from your 'heart', not just your mouth. These people go on living their same old lives and may soon forget what they ascribed to. Are these not the ones whom Jesus 'never knew'?

PERFECT EXAMPLE THAT REJECTS THE FOLLY OF ETERNAL SECURITY
In Matthew 16:13–16 (and Mark 8:27–29; Luke 9:18–20) Jesus asks the Apostles who do they say that he is? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
In the Old Testament, people were saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, looking ahead to the coming of Christ. Jesus said in John 8:56, “Abraham saw My day, and he was glad.” We are saved by looking back to the first coming of Christ, who died on the cross bearing our sins. In the Old Testament, they simply looked ahead to the coming of Christ. We all meet at the foot of the cross. It is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone that anyone is saved. Being saved is only the beginning of the road to eternal life. It is at this point that a believer becomes a disciple of Jesus, and obeys his commands until death.
The fact that Jesus replied to Peter that he had received that answer from The Father corroborates that Peter really did believe that he was the Savior that they had been waiting for. That would show that he had been justified by faith, thereby being saved.
He first believed that Christ was the Savior that they had been waiting for….. and then he did not.
To reject Matthew 10:33 as being relevant in this case would be to call Jesus a liar.
As we know, in John 21, Jesus restores Peter as one of his Apostles. And Peter spreads the Word throughout the nations until he eventually dies as a martyred Saint, therefore completing his journey on the narrow road to eternal life.
And so Scripture itself shows that:
1. Peter was saved and on the road to eternal life.
2. Then he left it on his own, and was bound for hell.
3. And then after regaining his faith, he was taken off the road to hell, and put back on the road to eternal life by Jesus, until his death as a martyred Saint.
Thereby proving that being saved DOES NOT guarantee eternal life.

This doctrine of forgiveness is FALSE, ERRONEOUS AND DANGEROUS, and yet it is taught all over America. Not only that, but this false doctrine has spread to Africa and other places and multitudes have been deceived! Incidentally, just this morning I sent an email to the leaders of a church in Graystone, Georgia, to correct this ERROR, if they'd be humble to admit their error and make correction. But I'm afraid that this is a doctrine that's so widespread that the denomination spreading this false doctrine would be too proud to renounce a false doctrine that they have perpetrated for generations.
The Bible teaches clearly that at conversion, we're forgiven for past sins (Romans 3:25). If our sins are forgiven, past, present and future, do you know what that means? It means we have no sin!!! But what does the Bible say? It says, "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves......" (1 John 1:7). After conversion, every sin must be confessed in order to be forgiven (1 John 1:8).
Just as in a court of law, a crime must be committed before one could be charged with a crime, let alone acquitted of a crime. If there's no crime, there's no charge and no acquittal. In the same manner, the Supreme Judge of the universe cannot charge us with a crime we have not committed, let alone acquit (forgive) us. It is preposterous to think anyone (let alone God), would do such thing.
The blood of Jesus Christ is the permanent provision for the forgiveness of sin, in the event of any sin of commission or omission. It supersedes Old Testament sacrifices which were made continually for sin. To teach that believers are forgiven, past, present and future is contrary to scripture, and this false doctrine must CEASE from today. Let all the churches understand this to correct this error. The tragic result of this error is antinomianism, where "saved" people wallow in sin, based on the false assurance that their sins have been forgiven, past, present and future!!

The bible is very clear about this. Jesus died for the forgiveness of all your PAST sins, up to the time that you accepted him as your Savior. From there on you must resist sin. And when you do sin, you ask Jesus to forgive you and repent of that sin, otherwise you will be cut off from the vine and thrown into the fire (hell). John 15:5-6
2 Peter 1:9
But HE that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that HE WAS PURGED FROM HIS OLD SINS.
Romans 3:25
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the REMISSION OF SINS THAT ARE PAST, through the forbearance of God;

I believe we need to remember that there is a word that is often overlooked when we talk about the forgivness of sins. It's called Repentance. While any sins that are committed before recieving Christ as our Savior are Forgiven when we recieve Christ through believing upon His name. Its through His Blood shed on Calvary that we recieve Forgivness of sin's. We will never be perfect until we goto heaven and recieve our heavenly body which is spirit. As long as we live in this fallen body of flesh we will continue to deal with sin. Repentance needs to be defined as what it Truly is. In the NT the subject chiefly has reference to “repentance” from sin, and this change of mind involves both a turning from sin and a turning to God. The parable of the Prodigal Son is an outstanding illustration of this. I only looked at this parable as when one turned to God for Salvation but now understand that Repentance means to see sin as what it Truly is: Disobedience towards God and His Commands, now this involves changing my mind and seeing sin as God sees it, not how I think.
The real battle takes place in the mind were we do all our thinking, our thinking controls our actions done in the body. It's the place of decision: Am I going to Obey Gods Word or Am I going to Disobey Gods Word and Sin. We overcome sin through Spiritual warefare as it says in 2 Corinthians 10:1–6 (NKJV): Now I, Paul, myself am pleading with you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ—who in presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you. But I beg you that when I am present I may not be bold with that confidence by which I intend to be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. If we let sinful thoughts into our mind we will act upon them and sin but if we cast them down and make our thoughts obedient to Christ then we will experience Victory over our Flesh. I fully believe with my heart we can be victorious just like Christ when He was tempted in the desert by Satan. How? By doing what God has commanded us in His Word. Through Obedience we will have Victory over Sin. Not Perfect but Christ Like in my thinking as it relates to Sin.

Wow, what a dangerous heresy you are promoting. There are *so many Scriptures* which disagree with this, but I'll show just one passage here. This one passage, itself, should be enough to put an end to this issue. But if it's not, I could give a bunch more examples. So, here are the verses immediately following the ones you quoted in this article:
Heb 10:26-27 “If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the Truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.”
Heb 10:28-29 “Anyone who rejected the Law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?”
Heb 10:30 “For we know Him Who said, ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ and again, ‘The Lord will judge His people.’”
Contrary to the comforting word you've given people here, "The Lord will judge His people." Hello? He will judge *HIS PEOPLE* . In other words, there is a big "final exam" coming for *each Christian* as well as the unbelievers. Look at Hebrews 10:26-27 (above). How can that make anyone feel comfort and peace if they accept this doctrine that their "future sins are forgiven". That's directly contrary to this Scripture (and many others, as I said).
No, we must *daily* press forward towards a life of holiness. We must daily take up our cross to follow Jesus. We must daily crucify the lusts of the flesh and all other sinful desires that find their way to us. This is the reality of living in the world.
Fortunately, we are not "of this world," and with God's grace we can "do all things through Christ." But it's not easy, it's not automatic, and Christ hasn't pre-qualified anyone for heaven.
OK, I can't resist, because there are just so many Scriptures which refute your take on forgiveness covering our future sins. So here's one more - but again, there are many more:
Matt 7:21-23 “ ‘Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?” Then I will tell them plainly, “I never knew you. Away from Me, you evildoers!”’”
So forget about thinking that just because you repented of your sins that your sins of tomorrow are covered. No way. As this verse shows, you must *do the will of God* or you won't make it through the gates of heaven. And that means that you do the will of God *today* and *tomorrow* and so forth, right till your last day.

Do you think its possible to intentionally sin? Or is this something we do before we are saved and sealed by the Holy Spirit? I ask this because there are times I wonder about my certain sins I have committed. There are days I wonder about the certainty of forgiveness that is provided by Jesus and whether I'm worthy of it in the first place. This wondering could be guilt and condemnation but how can you be for sure? Seeking some incite on this matter and any answers or stories about the same situation would be greatly appreciated.
