In the days after Jesus’s birth, wise men came to Jerusalem having seen the star.

This star was set in the eastern sky as confirmation of the one who had been born worthy of all praise. The wise men of that time were drawn to the newborn King. They searched for him for they wanted, they needed, to worship him.

Matthew 2:9-11 confirms they followed the star and found him – and they worshiped him.

Today we have so many things competing for our attention. Yet, we have the actual STAR in our midst.

Savior - Luke 2:11
Truth - John 14:6
Almighty One - Revelation 1:8
Redeemer - Job 19:25

Jesus confirms himself to be the star, the “bright and morning star”, in Revelation 22:16. We need only do the same as the wise men of that day - follow the star and seek the one born King of the Jews. If we are wise people today, we will choose to look and see Jesus. We will seek him because we want and need to worship him.

Wise men do still seek him. Friend, you and I can be a part of this prudent group. May we pause and reflect: how wise are we today?

Dear Father, thank you that I have the opportunity to look to Jesus and see him. Thank you that he is the STAR to show me the way. Let me be one of the wise men and women who seek you each day.

Take Action: Choose to wisely follow and seek Jesus each day in a lifestyle of quiet prayer and Bible reading. Invite the Holy Spirit to lead you. Spend time in praise and worship unto the Lord.

You are welcome to have others pray with you to strengthen your faith. There are confidential mentors available to pray with you.
