As we approached our accommodation where we had booked to see the snow, it was dry.
It became dark. That’s because my husband and I stopped along the way every now and then.
So, it was more convenient to reach that place when it was dry.
It was cold. Dressed warmly, we drove there to see the snow. However, there was no assurance it would snow every day. Or it would happen. So, knowing that we had asked God to give us the snow during our stay there, I believed God would do it.
Hmmm. It was gray with some green. That’s not how we pictured this. We knew what we had asked God.
So, I spoke with assurance as if it would snow. In my mind, God had heard what I had asked for. He could do it. And he would do it. So, I thanked him for it.
So, we checked in, went in, and unpacked our bags. It was still dry. No rain. No snow. Hmmmm.
There was no excitement. We were tired as we’d traveled some hours away from home.
We ate something and relaxed inside. It was dark. I thought that God would do it maybe while we were asleep. So, we closed the curtains.
Then, I opened the curtain to see if anything had happened. I noticed that balls of snow had fallen on the trees. The ground was covered with balls of white, too.
When did this happen? While we were having dinner, I suppose.
We dressed up again and went to the restaurant to relax and watch the snow. I thought we would have more. We were told that it hadn’t snowed for six weeks there.
The next morning, I woke up and opened the curtain. All the buildings were covered in white. The trees and the cars, everything was white. The sound of the snow truck disturbed the beauty a bit, cleaning the streets to make a path for cars. We also went to the mountain where we could fully enjoy the snow, where all the action was happening.
Isn’t that how life is? We want something, whether it’s healing, fun for our down time, family issues to resolve, or getting the right job. We can ask God. And He answers prayers. However, he may choose to do it how he believes is best for you and me.
Didn’t we get to avoid a slippery and dangerous road going up to that accommodation? God kept it dry till we got there. Also, we saw the power of his mighty hands.
Dear God, you have various ways of accomplishing things beyond our thoughts and expectations. I am grateful for your mighty power in what appears to be part of everyday life
Today’s Challenge: What would you like to ask God for? Build your faith by asking. Wait for it. Expect that God will accomplish something amazing today. By the end of the day, you may or may not see a big miracle. However, can you spot the mighty hand of God? Pause. Say thank you to God.
