There is an old parable that goes: Nobody dared go near the tower. A fearsome dragon sat on its top. Until one day a knight rode up. “Do you need help to get down?” “Yes, please,” replied the dragon.

At one point in our lives, we will be the knight going into certain danger and we will be the dragon who appears strong but needs help. Either way, we can rest assured that God will always be there for us. He will not leave or forsake us.

Sometimes I take my eyes off God and focus on the problem and it just gets worse and worse, and I can’t see God because I am only looking at the problem. And then I say, “I can’t believe God isn’t here to help me.” If you are anything like me, know that it is possible to stop telling God how big your problems are and start telling your problems how big your God is. You will be afraid, trust me on that. Just do it anyway. Real strength comes from knowing the promises of God and claiming them in the face of danger.

There is nothing wrong with you. Start tapping into what is strong with you. The answer is always the faith that we have that Jesus is there with us no matter what.

Every. Single. Time.

Father, thank you for dwelling in me through the Spirit, and giving me all the strength I need to trust you today with every challenge you are bringing my way. When I begin to feel overwhelmed, remind me that you give me all the power I need to obey you moment by moment.

Throughout This Day: Whenever your circumstances invade your thoughts, invite the Spirit to remind you once again of his power, his wisdom, his love and his constant presence. Then obey him, no matter how you feel.
