Have you ever been on a path where you found yourself all alone, facing trials you never expected? Is there a message God has given you that seems too heavy and you struggle to share it, because you think no one will listen?

I have felt those things myself, and I can’t claim to have all the answers. Something that gives me hope, however, is that I am not alone on this path. There are so many who have gone before. Jesus most of all, has walked this path. And also other heroes of the faith who have followed through with God, leave me an example of trusting him even when it is hard.

One of these heroes of the faith is Noah. We all know the story of how God told him to build a boat because a flood was coming. There had never been rain like that. Never! Can you imagine what that must have been like? Spreading a message of something that had never existed?

But Noah did. Surely he was mocked. He was ignored. But he persevered and did what God told him to do. So what does that mean for us? I know for me it is a challenge. Pray the prayer. Make the plans. Write the book. And trust God that the rains will come, in his perfect time.

Dear Father, thank you for the challenges and encouragement from your word. Thank you that we are not alone and that we can trust you. Help us to seek your face, and like Noah, follow your ways, even when it’s hard. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Throughout this Day: What is something in your life God is calling you to that seems impossible? How can you take steps toward obeying him in that today?
