I don’t know about you, but when I think about a God-honoring life, it challenges me.
The good news is we have a new life in Christ. So, that’s our hope. That we can start anew. Today is a new day. We can focus on now, on today.
Even if we’ve lived a life that’s far from godliness, we can lean into God today; we can walk in the Spirit. By the grace that God provides, we can honor him.
When it’s winter, we can’t just pretend we’re not cold. We need to wear extra layers. And wait for spring, then for summer. Our walk with God is the same. When we feel the winter of life, we need extra layers. We need extra time with God so we can hold on to our faith.
As God grants us new days and seasons, let us treasure his kindness.
Life can be noisy around us. But to honor God, we need to listen to him wherever we are.
To listen to God and to live out that relationship with him, we may need to, for example, turn off that favorite television channel. Or turn our back on something else that feels good but is unnecessary.
When we’re hungrier for God’s presence than for unnecessary things of life, we get to draw near to him and to hear him through his spirit. We receive guidance and strength to be the beautiful people we desire to be in the eyes of God.
Dear Father God, I’m so grateful that I have access to you, a new day and a new season. Help me live a Spirit-filled and faith-filled life no matter what I face, in the name of Jesus, I ask.
Throughout this day: Think about living a life that’s pleasing in God’s eyes. What would you like to turn your back on? Remember, when we miss the mark, in his goodness, God forgives us.
