Do you, like Moses, long to have the abiding presence of God in your life? Do you long to have God’s presence leading you to work his will through you? Anyone can experience God’s constant presence if you simply call out in faith and fully embrace the Holy Spirit with absolute and unreserved trust. The continual pursuit of God’s presence will lead you into a revelation of Christ’s love, mercy and goodness, and ultimately bring glory to God.

In today’s passage, Moses was convinced that without God’s presence in his life, it would be hopeless because he needed God’s hand to guide him and the Israelites. Moses knew that the power of God’s presence among them would set them apart from other nations and they would reap wonderful blessings. As Moses trusted in the manifest presence of the Lord, God was pleased with his ardor and made his glory pass before him.

In the enduring classic, Pursuit of God, author A.W. Tozer states, “Always, everywhere God is present, and always He seeks to discover Himself to each one.” As a Christian, you too must be constantly aware of his overshadowing presence and be sensitive to the Holy Spirit to hear his voice through the practicing of spiritual rhythms.

There is no greater thing in life than pursuing God and wanting to know him more intimately. God’s peace and order will manifest in your life during tumultuous times and you will simply thank God for his nearness and being ever present in your life. Praise God you do not have to understand him in order to experience and enjoy his loving presence.

Brandon Lake, writer and singer of “Just Like Heaven” reminds us that we can’t get enough of God’s presence and it’s simply the perfect point of view!

Dear Lord, thank you for the power of your presence and giving me the discernment and faith to pursue you with all that I have. Help me to discover you in new ways so that I can be transformed and used for the kingdom of God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
