Do you find that life throws many challenges at you? Sometimes, there can be multiple tests in one day. At times, it can be difficult to know what to do, how to tackle the challenges.
Yet, when we seek God, we find that his generosity is beyond comprehension. Most circumstances require more of us than we have to offer. It is in our best interests to inquire of God and ask for wisdom. Fortunately, we are assured by James 1:5 that when we do, God gives it generously. He does not find fault with us in our request as he provides. What a humbling realization.
Who doesn’t need the generosity of God? Whether it is in wisdom, forgiveness, love, joy, goodness – he is a good, good God and gives to us in our time of need. It might not always be the answer we envisioned, the path we expected, or the miracle we hoped for – but his plan is perfect. Remember, his ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9), and his word in Romans 8:28 confirms that he works all things together for our good.
Over a year ago, my family and I had some distressing life events that caused us to be more than ever aware of how much we need God’s love, comfort, and wisdom. I can attest to the truth of these words that God “generously gives.” There are moments when I still buckle under the weight of these tragic occurrences. However, when I quiet myself before his throne in worship and praise – my amazing God’s presence is lavishly revealed to me.
Isaiah 54:10 says,
“Though the mountains be shaken
and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed,”
says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
May I encourage you to call upon the Lord wherever you are on your journey? God will overwhelmingly bestow you with his power, peace, and profound love. His presence will surround you in ways you did not expect.
Heavenly Father I invite you to meet me on my journey – right where I am. Thank you for how you generously give to me with your power, peace, and provision when I call upon you. I am so grateful that you are with me at all times, and I do my best not to take it for granted. I praise you for who you are and for your generous presence in my life, dear God. In Jesus’s mighty name, I pray. Amen.
Throughout this day: Ponder the question, “How is God generous?” Take time to read scripture on the generosity of God in various ways, such as: joy (Psalm 37:4), love and compassion (Lamentations 3:22-23), and salvation (Romans 5:8). My prayer for you is that as you do, you are blessed.
