I serve in a ministry that helps mobilize and equip the Church to help society’s marginalized know Jesus and experience His power to change the world. I am SO grateful our God is close to the broken-hearted. He cares for the poor; He comforts those who mourn; He loves those who reject Him; He relentlessly seeks the lost. I love that the Lord is a Father to the fatherless, gives justice to the oppressed and food to the hungry, frees prisoners, and wants us to visit them as though we are often in a spiritual or emotional prison ourselves. He cares for the alien and the stranger in the land.

These examples begin to describe the dimensions of God’s love. Paul says it takes power from God to begin to grasp His love. The love of God cannot be fully explained but only experienced. His love surpasses every boundary in every direction - there are no limits. No matter where a person has been, or where they are currently, or where they are heading — He loves. No matter how shattered, closed, or rebellious we are — He still loves.

Do you know that no matter who you are, or what you have done, you cannot be excluded from the love of God? Do you know why? The love of Christ is so wide and long and high and deep — you couldn’t possibly reach the end of it. You are immersed in the love of God – whether you know it or not!

Father God, the width, length, height, and depth of your love is beyond my knowledge and understanding. I pray for the power to grasp how much you love me and the whole world. Thank you for the revelation of your love to the depth of my heart. Lord, please help me love others as you have loved me. Amen.

Go Deeper — Ponder the love of God. Ask the Lord to reveal His love personally to you. Ask the Lord for opportunities for you to share His love with others — especially those who are in crisis, distress, have been forgotten, or ignored. Ask the Lord to reveal His love to you through loving others!
