Are you glad for this day the Lord has made?

When I was growing up, my parents taught specific standards. One of my mom's favorite lines was, "You get what you get, and you don't throw a fit." The idea behind that saying is that you deal with what you get and don't let it upset you. Easier said than done, right? We may not like the circumstance we are in or the situation we are dealing with. However, we are blessed by God every day—no matter the circumstances.

Sometimes, we realize that in the present moment, and then sometimes, it's after. Many times, our greatest blessings can be disguised as our greatest challenges. Every challenge we face is an opportunity to experience blessing.

Each day is made by God and is full of opportunity. We may not see all the circumstances as opportunities, but they are. God allows every circumstance we face and has a way for him to be glorified through it. I would say God's version of "you get what you get, and you don't throw a fit" is Psalm 118:24: "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."

As we wake up each morning, let's remember that God has crafted this day. No matter what challenges we may encounter, we can find joy and contentment. Why? Because we can rejoice in the knowledge that God is by our side, guiding us through the day. “This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it!

Dear God, as I start this day, help me to remember that you have created it. Let me be filled with gratitude and joy, knowing that you are with me every step of the way.

Throughout this day: Remember, God is with me, and I can be glad no matter what I face.
