Have you ever considered what it is to learn from the Master? It is an amazing thought that we can ask the Lord to instruct us. Master is an intimate name for our Lord. The disciples referenced Jesus as Master in Matthew 8:19, Luke 8:24, John 13:13-14.
Jesus taught us in Matthew 10:24 that the student is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his master. We are the students and Jesus is our teacher. When we surrender ourselves before God, and ask him to teach us - He will lead us on level ground. You and I can learn of him.
To know God and his ways is an important part of our journey. I can honestly share with you that I have heard the Lord instruct me. Several months ago his words were clearly, “Learn of Me.” Since then, I have been setting aside additional time each day to pray and study specific scripture that he has put on my heart. It is a precious gift to learn of him in the manner he is teaching me right now. This has been and continues to be a very intimate time with my amazing God. I am growing and learning as I write down what he is showing me in this personal study about learning of him.
Do you want to know the Lord more? When we humble ourselves before him and ask for his instruction, he will teach us his ways. The Lord will invite you to learn of him in opportunities you never could imagine.
Heavenly Father, thank you so much that you teach me as I surrender all to you. I pray that you show me opportunities to learn of you. I want to know you more, dear God. I ask you to instruct me in your ways. Thank you, I pray, in Jesus’s name.
Throughout The Day
Seek the Lord and ask him to teach you his ways. Pray and let him know your desire to learn of him. Study the Bible for his wisdom and guidance. Be quiet and listen before God. He will instruct you and lead you to know him more.
