“But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by your weaknesses? Take some time to reflect on how God uses your shortcomings to reveal His power.

When we’re at our lowest, that’s when the power of God is revealed!

How often have you begged God to change one aspect of yourself? Maybe you struggle with public speaking, and have earnestly prayed for a miraculous confidence. Or perhaps you are ill and have pleaded with God to heal you completely.

The Apostle Paul was no stranger to this kind of prayer. He writes in 2 Corinthians that he asked God three times to take away “a thorn in his flesh.” But rather than taking his suffering away, God spoke to Paul, saying, “My power is made perfect in weakness.”

So let’s, like Paul, delight in our weaknesses: for when we’re weak, we are made strong through Christ.

Dear God, thank You for how You use my weaknesses to reveal Yourself. Help me to learn to see my failings as they are: more ways for Your glory to shine. I pray that I would boast in my weaknesses, rather than dread them. Continue to use me to reveal Yourself to the people around me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
