When life has curves and bends that are unexpected, there are two choices . The first option is to react. The second is to pause.

People fail each other, intentionally or unintentionally. Dreams are challenged and even changed. Some relationships turn out to be seasons rather than lifetime. Your circle of support grows smaller with loved ones passing. Certain connections reveal betrayal and bad behavior.

In spite of these difficult occurrences, God is still with you. He is faithful no matter what the circumstances are and you can depend on him. Once you choose to pause instead of reacting, follow that with seeking God. As you do this daily, you will grow and develop the fruit of the Spirit of joy. Additionally, you will mature in your walk with the Lord and discover that the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Joyful living is submitting all aspects of your life, your path, your experience to God who loves you more than you can imagine. For God will fill you with joy when you are in his presence.

When you shout and sing for joy (Psalm 95:1-3; Psalm 16:11) - you enter into God’s presence and he fills you with joy. Let me encourage you that wherever you are in your journey today, spend time with God. If you are victorious and all is well, worship God. When difficulties arise, praise the Lord. As you do, you will find that joy will be consistently present and apparent in your life. Others will witness this and you will be able to testify of the joy of the Lord at all times.

*Father God, you know where I am in my life. Today I choose to pause and seek you. I shout for joy and sing for joy unto you and your presence fills me with joy. I welcome the Holy Spirit to lead me in joyful living with you no matter my circumstances. Thank you for your presence, dear God. I give you praise, Jesus. Amen. *

Throughout the day seek the Lord and worship him. Embrace the joy his presence brings as you shout and sing unto him in praise.
