Do you ever wonder how you got where you are? How will you stretch your resources to meet your family’s needs? Are you stuck in a cycle of fretting about your life? Jesus instructs us in Matthew 6:28-30 not to worry. “Is not life more than…?” But in order to live in the assurance God has for you, you need to make a choice.
I encourage you to consider the priorities you have today. As you recognize what you are focusing on now, notice that Jesus tells us to choose God’s kingdom, to ensure Jesus takes precedence. Be intentional to “seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
When your foundation is the Lord, your stress level will dissipate. Philippians 4:7 states, “For the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” That Paul says, is what will happen when we intentionally replace anxiety with prayer and thanksgiving. (Philippians 4:6-9)
I invite you to be determined in your life’s journey to seek the Lord daily. Not just for His plan, not just to escape anxiety, not just for your focus. I welcome you to purposefully decide to commit to Jesus every day for all these reasons as well as the testimony you will share to your family, your friends, and even your foes.
As you seek first the Kingdom of God you will grow in your walk with him. As you live intentionally with who the Lord is - your life will shout, “Look what the Lord has done!” Jesus will bless those around you through your song of praise to our amazing God. When you seek him first, you will leave a legacy of foundational faith for those who will follow. May it be so!
Father God, you know where I am today. I ask you to lead me by your Holy Spirit. Please help me decide to intentionally seek you and your Kingdom first every day. I desire to know you more, live in your peace, and share my testimony - even as a legacy to those to come. Please show me your ways, Lord, I choose to live for you. In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray.
Throughout this day: give God the first of your day and spend time in prayer with him. Welcome the presence of the Lord as you praise and worship him with songs such as Hillsong - Still https://m. Seek him first and let him show you his ways for you this day.
