I am not a fan of scary movies.
The stress of not knowing what is going to happen at any given moment is not a feeling that I enjoy. All the bad things that happen to the people in scary movies are because they are always the wrong person at the wrong place and at the wrong time. Sometimes it is of their own doing. That’s why I end up yelling at the screen, “Don’t go into the extremely dark house at 1am, with no lights and strange noises!” Yet they still do it.
That is what happens when you are in the wrong place at the wrong time. What about the opposite? Think about a time in your life when things just didn’t look good for you, but somehow everything just worked out. That’s what happens for those who trust God and are called by him.
When you are at the place God wants you to be, at the time God knows is right, all you have to do is show up. God gave us his holy Word and he sent us the Holy Spirit who guides, directs and transforms our hearts. Following his word and inviting the Spirit to lead you will confirm that you are the right person, at the right place, at the right time. All you have to do is show up.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for sending your Word and the Holy Spirit to guide me and to show me your will for my life. Please grant me the wisdom to be at the right place at the right time to experience all of your blessings. Let those blessings overflow so I can share them with others. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Throughout the Day: Submit your plans to God. Ask him to help you trust his timing in your life and to help you resist temptation. Trust him to bring you to the right places at the right time according to his perfect will.
