Power of the Cross

Many times, I have my television on as background noise. Occasionally, something on a show catches my attention. Late one evening, a statement caught my attention.

A late show host was making fun of something said by a public figure concerning God. The statement was that spirituality can help fix our problems. The late show host expressed how foolish she thought this was. She laughed, and then the crowd laughed. Then I shut off the television.

You see, the message of the cross is not foolish to me. God is the answer to everything in life. He can provide healing and strength, wisdom and protection in every situation you may experience.

God provided all of this to us through the cross of Jesus. In the world’s eyes, we Christians appear foolish. However, to us Christians, the cross is life and healing for all areas of our life.

So, let the world laugh at us who follow Jesus and call us foolish. I realize and have experienced the power of the cross and all the wisdom and benefits that come with it. Until I experience the glory of being face to face with Jesus in heaven, I will pray for others to experience the benefits of his cross, too.

Dear God, Thank you for the power of the cross. I pray for others to experience your power and gain wisdom from it.
