As the sun peeks through the morning clouds, you may be dealing with difficult challenges. Getting those toes to move forward can be hard. The author of Lamentations felt overwhelmed with life as he tried to challenge people to change. Things were a mess for a long time, but as he cried out to God, he was able to come to the conclusion that because of the Lord's great love, we don't have to be overwhelmed and consumed.

That's why I love the verse above.

Our life may look bleak, and we can find ourselves feeling like there are no answers to be found. The challenges of our finances, relationships, and family may feel like an overstretched rubber band about to snap. But we have hope! God's never ending love is expressed by his compassion and faithfulness to us daily. God's love is the real deal, unbreakable, and unstoppable.

When we take our eyes off God's faithfulness and try to do things in our own strength, we become consumed. We may find ourselves making unwise choices. His portion empowers a new start each day as our firm foundation. 1 John 4:8 says that "God is Love," so it is the Lord himself loving us that is our portion; he keeps us moving ahead, trusting him to work in and through us.

Today, choose to believe, as Frederick Martin Lehman's hymn 'The Love of God' says, "God's love, so sure, shall still endure, All measureless and strong; Redeeming grace to Adam's race.

Almighty God, help us to see your love each new morning. As we face each day, may we understand that your Love is faithful and compassionate so we're ready for the tasks and decisions ahead. Embed your love deeply in our hearts. We are thanking you for this promise. Amen.

Today's Challenge: What has life handed you? Ask God to take any consuming issues you are facing and to help guide you. Trust in his faithful love to move your ten toes ahead. Pray that you will believe in his love, faithfulness, and compassion. If this is a struggle, try reading Falling Out of Love with God.
