I love the sights and sounds of new beginnings every spring on our farm. New plant life peeks through the soil and baby lambs can be heard out on the grass. It is a reminder to me that Jesus gave me new birth and continues to give me new beginnings in my spiritual walk.

Notice this verse doesn't talk about what we have done; it focuses on whose we are; because of Christ's sacrificial death and resurrection. I'm convinced it certainly isn't anything I have done. God's unconditional love and mercy is extended for everyone to receive. He wants all who claim it to have fresh beginnings. Because of God's mercy, we can rejoice as Titus did: "He saved us..., washed us..., [and] he gave us new birth.

Fresh beginnings are like crocuses and tulips emerging in spring. Because of God's Mercy there can be new beginnings to live in obedience each and every morning empowered by the Holy Spirit. His mercy gives me great inspiration and gratitude to apply Scripture to everyday decisions. Prayerfully listening to the Holy Spirit for direction provides peace for the next steps I take in life.

God of all mercy, thank you for saving us, washing us and giving us limitless resources for fresh beginnings here on Earth. Help us to live lives of obedience that honor your sacrifice that secured our new birth. In Jesus' name, Amen.
