Is everything happening on the earth right now in line with God’s will? God has given the earth to humankind and Jesus instructed us to ask God for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10). So, whose will are we consistently doing on the earth? Is it God’s will or ours? It’s a question that we need to ask ourselves regularly so we can realign our will with His.

Should believers pray to impact the earth positively as planned in heaven? Yes. When Jesus walked the earth, He had one purpose — to do the will of His Father. Prayer was the secret of His strength. We should invite God to fulfill His purposes through us right where we live.

Wishing for the will of God to come to this earth is not enough. Knowing His will is not enough. The responsibility of believers is to pray for the strength to surrender our will to His will, and to make the right decisions to fulfill God’s purposes — persistently asking for His will to happen on this earth as it is in heaven.

The more we get to know Him, the more the focus of our hearts shifts from our will to His. When our desires are in sync with His desires and we desperately ask to see God’s will done on the earth, He hears us. God loves to welcome us as partners to accomplish the good work He has prepared in advance for us to do.

Heavenly Father, I ask you to do your will on earth as it is in heaven. Help me to align my will with your will so I can make the right decisions on the earth, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Go Deeper — Is there something that you’ve been sensing that God is leading you to do or not to do? Pray for His strength in that area, and for you to be aligned with His will.
