I love this verse. I have written it out for years on the front page of my Bibles.

I like to think about the wonder in Mary’s heart when she first heard the angel’s words. How could she, a virgin, bear the Christ-child? Luke 1:38 was her response. It says, “And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word….”

“Nothing is impossible for God” must have reverberated in her heart as the baby grew in her womb. It fortified and empowered her to believe throughout her pregnancy.

Mary is such an example for us. The Lord looks for hearts that will believe his word. There is never a situation in our lives that is not allowed by the Lord. He uses our adversities, hardships, and hard trials to conform us to his image.

Each new trial is an opportunity to trust the one who orchestrates everything out in our lives for our good. True, the initial impact of a trial doesn’t feel good. All fiery trials bring hidden dross to the surface. However, if we will embrace God-given challenges wholeheartedly, we will be strengthened in our faith.

Father, I am so grateful that Mary believed in the face of the impossible. She is such a wonderful example of taking you at your word. Help us to trust that whatever you allow in our lives is your best because it is always for our good. Amen

Thought for the day: Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any hidden unbelief regarding the impossible circumstances you face right now. Ask him for the faith to trust him to work all things for his glory and for your good.

Here’s a song to encourage you today: “Nothing Is Impossible” ?si=rJfmYYhGgFB4IUUY
