At the beginning of every year, I choose a word to focus on. I study its meaning and search scripture to understand what God says about it. My word for 2025 was intentional.

As I studied this word, I realized something powerful: we are always being intentional, whether for good or not. We can choose to intentionally be kind, positive, and serve others. Or we can just as easily choose the opposite. Intentional living means making a conscious decision about how we spend our time, our energy, and our influence.

Throughout that year, I began to view my time on earth differently. I wanted my life to have purpose, to be aligned with God’s purposes. Each day, I tried to be intentional in choosing kindness, speaking positively, and looking for ways to help others. I approached my days prayerfully, asking God to guide my actions and open my eyes to opportunities to serve.

God has put each of us here on earth to accomplish a mission for him. We are not here by accident. We are created with purpose and given the freedom to choose how we live that out. My prayer is to always be intentionally doing good for God.

Dear God, help me to live each day with intention. Guide my thoughts, my words, and my actions so they reflect your goodness. Amen.

Throughout this Day: Look for opportunities to use your time in ways that honor God.
