Blessed Resurrection Sunday! He is risen! The Lord is risen indeed!

There comes a time in each of our lives when we must let go of what is no longer beneficial to us. Many people toil back and forth, vacillating between two opinions rather than just deciding it’s time to move forward. It could be over relationships, career choices, club memberships, etc. Nevertheless, it is important to realize when it’s time to let go of dead things.

In our Scripture passage, we find the women looking for Jesus after he was crucified and buried. The Angels asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead!”

Jesus rose from the dead on the third day, just as he promised. His words were evidence of the power he possessed.

That same power is at work in our lives as believers today. He is able to resurrect the areas in our lives that seem fruitless, those areas that seem dry and barren. That same power is able to help us move forward from dead situations and relationships into a healthy place — a place of fruitfulness.

Take a moment to examine the areas in your life that have been creating frustration and conflict. Pray and ask God what it is you need to begin to release into his care so he can ressurect new hope in you.

*Father, help me to recognize the dead areas in my life and when it is time to let go of what I have been holding on to. Teach me how to recognize the fruitful and flourishing places of mine that you have blessed. I ask that you heal the areas of my heart that keep me trapped and looking in the wrong places for what I need. Thank you for loving me enough to correct me. In Jesus name, Amen.

Go Deeper — Today may be filled with hymns, chocolate eggs, and family. Take a few minutes to thank God for his resurrecting power to bring “life” into our lives when we accept his Son, Jesus, as our Savior.
