I have two kids. My daughter is very perceptive and my son is not. One time at dinner, he would not eat the piece of chicken my wife set in front of him. He said he wanted a different piece of chicken (only God knows why). My wife went back to the kitchen, rustled the pans, warmed up the same piece of chicken from before, and presented it to my son. Everything looked good to him so he started eating it. My perceptive daughter screamed, “It’s the same chicken!” Our master plan was ruined.

In the Bible, Saul persecuted Christians daily. He was ruthless. He killed Christians because he hated them. One day he ran into God on the road to Damascus and God extended Saul his grace. The rest is history. Saul became Paul and is probably known as the greatest Christian to ever live. He wrote so many important pieces of the Bible. Today Saul would be known as a terrorist, but God turned his life around and used him to influence millions of people.

The same grace God extended to Paul is ours for the taking. God’s grace is good enough for you and is good enough for me. No matter what you have done in life, just remember how God turned Paul around. Know that God loves you just as much and can bring you back from whatever you are struggling with. It is sufficient. The grace given to Paul and the grace given to us… it’s the same grace.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your grace and mercy. Help me to remember that your grace is available any time I want it. Please help me to remember to extend that same grace to others. In Jesus name, amen.
