There have been times in my life as a believer in Jesus when I’ve become susceptible to the attacks of my adversary - Satan. When I’ve doubted God’s love for me in the midst of sinful moments a crack forms in my once strong fortress of belief and I realize that I’m relying on my own strength to watch over the walls of my faith.

Fortunately, as I get older and my spiritual life matures, I’m quicker in recalling God’s truth when I get myself into a pickle. Verses like today’s restore my confidence in the Lord’s inexhaustible love for me, and I become more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). My Savior strengthens me as I read his promises over my life as his daughter.

In receiving Christ as my Lord and Savior, I was eternally sealed with an inheritance by the Holy Spirit, who keeps guard over my life through his powerful indwelling presence and work. It’s in that guarantee I securely live and in which my true identity resides as I recall the depths of my Lord’s love. There is nothing that can ever undo this beautiful reality which, I hope, you have grasped in your faith journey with Jesus.

The temporal world we live in as believers can deceive us and become intoxicating in overwhelming times of pain, discouragement or struggle. Sometimes we can lose sight of the only love that is real and worthwhile, a love that extends for miles beyond what our human minds can ever begin to comprehend. Yet, every word of our heavenly Father to us is faithful and constant.

It is vital that we learn to see and move beyond the opposing tactics of the prowling enemy in order to take hold of the victory that belongs to us. We can do that by immersing ourselves in the pages of Holy Scripture, including the words of today’s portion from Romans 8. Let us latch on to God’s love and allow him to take us wherever he wants us to go as part of his limitless love for you and me.

Marvelous Father, how boundless is your love for your children. I’m so thankful that there is nothing that can break my love bond with you. That your promises stand, even during times of doubt and struggle. Keep me close to you in those moments, reminding me of your truths for me as a conqueror. In Jesus’s name I pray, Amen.

Throughout This Day: Have you ever doubted God’s love for you? If so, set aside some time today to read, meditate on and memorize the precious promise of God’s boundless love in today’s verses.
