The clock ticking on the wall. The dark windowless exam room. The cold slimy gel on my tummy. The clicks from the keyboard. One minute I was pregnant and looking forward to a new baby to join our other boy. The next the ultrasound technician excused herself to get a doctor. I sat waiting, confused. “I’m sorry but your baby has no heartbeat.”
I called my husband and choked out the words, anguished. We didn’t know who or what was to blame. How could this happen?
I was weak. I didn’t know what or how to pray. Thankfully, the Holy Spirit took over and prayed for me. He comforted me and gave me his peace. He brought me his people to help with meals and hugs.
God the Father doesn’t expect us to have everything all together all the time. There are times when we know what to pray and we need to pray that. Other times are too stressful, and we need to rely on God the Holy Spirit to bring us before the Father. We can rest assured that he will plead for us exactly according to what the Father wants and give us emotional healing.
Lord, thank you so much for the Holy Spirit who helps me when I am so often weak. Thank you that he prays for me according to your will. I will nestle close to you and listen and obey.
Throughout this Day: If you are feeling weak, receive grace from God and ask him to pray for you. Listen to what he says.
