“I am the way, the truth and the life.”  John 14:16
“‘What is truth?’ asked Pontius Pilate.” John 13:38

In our world, we are inundated with many different religions and beliefs, with various expressions of modern spirituality and many philosophies that go contrary to the word of God. It is no wonder there is great confusion in people’s hearts when their foundation hasn’t been laid upon the person of Jesus Christ.

Jesus says, “Seek, and you will find.” (Mathew 7:7)

When we seek God through Jesus with our whole hearts, diligently through prayer and the reading of His Word, we find that our deepest hungers are quenched and that the truth we are seeking is found fully in Him and Him alone.

In the book of 1 Corinthians, it tells us that Israel drank of a spiritual rock, which was Christ (1 Corinthians 1:4). Jesus is our rock of truth.

We must fill ourselves with the nourishment of the words of Jesus, and when we do, we will find ourselves standing strong when trials and turmoil come our way. And when the winds of deceit and sin try to blow us over, we will continue to stand high and grounded upon the truth of Jesus Christ.

After Pontius Pilate asked Jesus this question about truth, he never waited for an answer, and yet, Truth himself, was standing right in front of him.

C.S. Lewis said, after searching for truth, “I thought I had come to a place.  I found out I had come to a person.”

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus so I may know You eternally. Thank You for giving me Your word to know the truth, a truth that sets me free from the bondage of the enemy and everything this world places before me that is not of You. Help me to know You and to stand on Your truth. Amen.

Take Action

Find a rock around your home or a nearby park and write the word TRUTH on it.  Keep it where you know you will see it the most (you can even keep it in your pocket or next to your morning coffee mug). When you look at it, it will remind you to stand on the truth of Jesus and to go to His Word to live with a firm foundation.

Is it time to make friends with your Bible again?
