Let’s face it, we have all had a bad day. The puddle in the middle of the kitchen that we step in with socks on only happens when we are having a bad day. We only forget our phone halfway to work when the morning was starting off badly. But think about it, are we having a bad five minutes or are we milking those five minutes to turn it into a bad day?

I saw a movie called Free Guy about a guy who had no control over his life in a video game. His line in the game is, “Don’t have a good day, have a great day!”

We serve the Almighty God and I think sometimes we are ok with just having a good day. We expect bad days to happen, but very rarely do we expect to have a great day. It should be the opposite. Every day with the Lord is a day in which to rejoice and be glad. You will be surprised at how your outlook changes after you adopt this line of thinking day after day.

Don’t let that puddle rob you of your joy. Don’t let traffic or a driver you will never see again steal your happiness. Don’t let that slow computer make you lose your temper. Focus on Jesus and what he has done for you and soon all your bad days will become good days, and all your good days will become great days.

Are you facing a bad day? Maybe you find yourself in a difficult season. Connect with an online mentor today. We'd love to pray for you.

Father, I know that you call me to rejoice and be glad in every day, but sometimes it's hard. Bad moments and painful seasons often overshadow the good. Help me, Lord, to fix my eyes on Jesus in my difficult moments. Help me to see each day as an opportunity to rejoice in your provision, your sustenance, your gift of life and breath to me. Change my outlook, Lord, in a way that only you can. Help me to walk with you, my faithful Saviour.

Throughout This Day: Seek to focus on Jesus and enjoy him as you go from task to task today.
