The holidays can be a time of chaos and busyness. It's the day after Christmas, and I feel worn and stressed out. My back and feet hurt from all the cooking, and I feel like I've washed every dish in my cabinet.

I have a throbbing headache from the lack of sleep, compounded by the whirlwind of family gatherings, late-night gift wrapping, and the excitement of being with the people I love the most. Yet, amid all this chaos, I feel a deep happiness.

Why? Because in all the chaos, I've found a few precious moments to talk to God. It's in these quiet times, even if for a moment, that I'm reminded of the true meaning of Christmas.

It's easy to get swept away in the flurry of holiday activities, but these moments in prayer have grounded me. They remind me that the holiday season's true meaning is not in grand meals and expensive presents but in love and peace that only comes from being with God.

In those moments of prayer, I feel the burdens of my stress lift, even if just a little. It's a gentle reminder that peace is available to us amid all our striving. We can find that peace and rest when we visit with God in prayer.

Jesus was born so that God could be with us—Emmanuel. This name carries profound significance. Even when chaos surrounds us, we can hold onto the promise that God is always near.

I encourage you to pray to God when you feel tired and stressed. Take a moment to step back from the noise and chaos, no matter how brief. Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and remember that he is Emmanuel, God with us.

Thank You for the gift of your presence, especially during the chaos of the holidays. I am grateful for you being Emmanuel—God with us. Amen.

Throughout This Day: Consider ways you can remind yourself to pause regularly during this holiday season to remember that God is Emmanuel, God with us. Then use those reminders!
