The way someone dresses says a lot about who she is: whether she’s spunky, confident, comfortable, or approachable. Clothing sends an immediate impression about someone’s values and personality, and gives clues as to what he likes or dislikes. Think about a makeover show on television: the difference between the “before” and “after” is truly astonishing, and it often doesn’t even look like the same person!
As Christians, our appearance should give off this first impression: that we’re compassionate, kind, humble, gentle, and patient.
People should know we’re God’s chosen people by just looking at us, by observing how we conduct ourselves, and how we interact with others.
Dear God, help us to choose compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience — every day. Give us the courage to display our transformed lives and spirit, and may we point others towards You in the process. In Jesus’ name, amen.
