What do you hang on to the most—your new and beautiful outfit? This new and lovely haircut? What clothes, shoes or jewelry define you? How much do you embrace a new look?

I can do with a lovely new look. So can you. We all want to feel renewed. It has been prepared for us to enjoy what is new. However, we need to remember this verse:

He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! Psalm 103:5.

Is this true or false? Someone’s age may not label them as young, but they can still be young at heart and so can their inner man.

Whatever happened to us in our past before we offered our heart to God should not control us if we carry God’s presence. If it exists in our thoughts or emotions, remember, in Christ we are new creations. So, the old has passed away. No matter what it was.

Does this mean that we refuse to face reality? Far from that! What happened to you was a fact. Today, the truth is who we are in Christ matters more than our past. When you and I are in Christ, there’s a shift. It’s powerful. We shift from the old life to the new life.

When we sin, we ask for forgiveness. Yet, we don’t become so sin conscious that we can’t adopt the new life. There’s a rich life in Christ available to us.

Let us enjoy the new life in Christ!

Father God, help us enjoy the new life provided in Christ.

Throughout the Day: When negative thoughts come to your mind to make you feel sad or not so good about yourself, remember that Christ has provided a new life for you. The old has passed away.
