Jesus’ triumph over death has set us free.

I repeat. Jesus’ triumph over death has set us free!

But, what exactly does this mean? Well, it means that we, Christians, should no longer live life in bondage to fear, uncertainty, and doubt. Instead, we should live life with hope, confidence, and zeal, knowing that our King, our Savior and our Best Friend has conquered death so we can live forever in eternity with him, as promised by God the Father.

Is that not a magnificent promise and destination for all of us believers?!

It is. But, unfortunately, we can at times live as if it were not true. It’s as if we forget God’s promises and the power he has over the ultimate consequence of sin: death. Look, I get it. Life is hard, and these past two years have had many problems, to say the least. But, our King, our God, is mightier than all of the world’s problems combined, for he has already overcome the world, even when it threw everything at him and showed him no mercy. Therefore, it would be wise and responsible of us to remind ourselves and our brothers and sisters in Christ daily of this wonderful truth.

Imagine how different our lives would be if we approached the many opportunities and circumstances of life with the formidable faith and blazing zeal that comes with being grounded in Christ’s victory! Imagine if we really understood the meaning and significance behind Jesus’ death, resurrection, and ascension into Heaven.

I believe that if we remember and internalize the truth behind who God is and whom that makes us in Christ, we would live like the mighty warriors of faith we are all called to be.

Remember who you are in Christ, Christian. And remember the triumph that Jesus achieved when he trusted and obeyed his and our Heavenly Father. If you live life in allegiance to the Father, as our Best Friend does, then you, too, will reflect the love, glory, and honor of who God is.

My Lord, thank you for your sovereignty. Thank you, Jesus, for conquering the power of death and setting us free from its clutches if we choose to recognize you as our Lord and Savior. Father, please help me remember and understand Christ’s power intimately every day so that I can live a life that brightly reflects your love, glory, and honor, serving as a beacon to draw others closer to your Son. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Throughout This Day: Listen closely to this song's lyrics that commemorate our King’s Lordship. Feel free to worship through singing, humming, dancing, or giving your thoughts to our Lord while this beautiful anthem honours our God.
