The wrapping paper has been torn off and the leftovers are packed away.

For many, December 26th brings a strange silence. The anticipation that built up for weeks has faded, sometimes replaced by quiet exhaustion and the heavy realization that while Christmas Day has passed, the problems you put on hold have not.

How do you feel when the carols stop playing and the lights go dim? In the aftermath of the celebrations, we need to remember the truth of Christmas.

Emmanuel, God with us, a Savior who enters our real, messy, and exhausted lives.

If you're feeling overwhelmed or discouraged today, remember that God does not work based on your ability to "keep up the Christmas spirit." When you've come to the end of yourself, his Spirit's power will be enough. As you trust him, he will fill you with hope, joy, and peace. What a blessing!

Our Father will meet you where you are. Be ready for the overflow of all the good that he has for you, not just in the future, but in this very moment today.

Lord, thank you that the hope of Christmas doesn't end when the day is over. Help me live out this hope every day of the year. When I feel empty, fill me again with your joy and peace. I choose to trust in you today, believing that you are restoring my hope even now. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Throughout the Day: Read Psalm 42:11 and Lamentations 3:21-24. Bring all your feelings before the Lord and remember who he is based on his Word.
