It was never supposed to be this hard. The lessons I am working through and the business email I am trying to set up were supposed to be straightforward and simple. But I keep hitting brick wall after brick wall until I am thinking of trying something else.

I’m a tactile person. And I’ve been using art therapy to help, both with getting unstuck creatively and becoming more healthy emotionally. That’s one reason I made a windmill out of a coffee filter, a brad and pipe cleaners a few days ago. The other reason was that when I thought of my technology frustrations, I thought of the wind.

The wind is a part of our everyday lives and it has a mind of its own. There is little hope of changing its activity or direction, yet a contraption exists which actually harnesses and makes use of its power. That’s what I’m determined to do somehow, take this frustrating setback and make it a positive rather than a negative.

In today’s scripture, John acknowledges that the wind does indeed have a mind of its own. You see its work, but so much of its source and direction is a mystery. It is like that with those who show evidence of the Holy Spirit working in their lives.

As believers, the Holy Spirit is our power source. We cannot harness his power; we only experience it as we listen to and obey him. As I think about my situation and today’s scripture, I am reminded that the only way I can make my technological difficulties work for me is to allow the Holy Spirit to work through me and change my perspective. He is the source of true power, even greater than the power of the wind, and through his leading, I can overcome.

Dear Father, thank you for the power of your Holy Spirit and the work he does in our lives. Help me have strength and patience as I seek help to work through issues in my life. Thank you for the wind’s reminder that the answers I seek are beyond me, and yet attainable because of the power working within me. In Jesus name, amen.

Throughout this Day: Is there a frustrating situation in your life right now? How can you allow the Holy Spirit to work through this situation and bring something positive through it?
