Is your husband looking at porn? Before you trash his computer and smartphone, here’s what you need to know: there’s hope for your marriage.

A recent survey by Barna Group found that 64 per cent of Christian men say they view porn at least once a month. Because this is such a huge issue in our culture, your pastor is likely well-equipped to provide wise counsel, a listening ear, and further resources to rebuild your marriage. So even though you may feel devastation, shock, and anger, you can move on from this.

As Sheila Wray Gregoire explains, it all starts with being on your husband’s side as he works through his addiction. After you’ve confronted him honestly about how this can’t keep happening in your marriage, you can encourage your husband to seek out an accountability partner who can support him and help him stop when he relapses. Also, it’s important to educate yourself on how porn has actually rewired your husband’s brain so you can help him as he tries to restore the level of sexual intimacy that has been lost in the process.

You can be an ally as he fights this addiction. Because he’s not the enemy; porn is.
