“The Lord will guide you always. He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.” Isaiah 58:11

These amazing words show the heart of our Father God toward us when we turn from shallow worship to true, heartfelt worship of God. Then we can rest upon his wonderful promise.

“He will guide you always.” If confusion confronts your way and you don’t know what to do, set your heart firmly upon trusting him one step, one day at a time. He promises to go before you. Thank him that he sees the road ahead and will never leave you as he guides you through the maze. If shallow worship has become familiar to you, anchor yourself afresh to his steadfast love and care, and trust him through the challenges.

“He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame.” As you realign your heart with God’s and determine to trust his love, even when all around you is desert sand, he will meet your needs. It may look different than you are used to, but watch for his hand and thank him for every morsel and every evidence of provision. Look to him to dissipate the stress in your body and the tension in your mind as you feel him strengthen your frame.

“You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.” When your eyes look first to God with gratitude that he is walking close beside you, guiding your steps and guarding your soul, you will feel his peace. This peace will keep you anchored, steady, and strengthened to walk through each day, step by step. This peace will settle you, and will be enough to share with others.

Here is a suggested prayer to receive strength and guidance:

Father God, thank you that you have promised to guide me always, not just when I am up and on track, but always. Today I lean hard on that promise. I ask you to continue to show me the way to walk, step by step. Father, sometimes I feel like a sun-scorched land… yet you promise to meet my needs even there. Today I acknowledge I need you. My worship of you has been shallow and I ask your forgiveness. I am parched and I look to you to give me emotional strength, spiritual insight, and physical stamina when things around me seem to be drying up. Thank you, Father, that your tender care encompasses all of me. Help me to draw on that care today and to praise you for it! Thank you that you are my anchor. Help me to worship you with awe and wonder as I trust in your love for me. I pray this in the strong name of Jesus, amen.
