I’m writing this post using Google Chrome. It’s Google’s just-released web browser, which some claim runs faster and better than both Internet Explorer and Firefox, the two browsers which currently dominate the Internet “browser wars”. Does it seem to anyone else like Google is slowing trying to take over the web? (Search, email, document editing, maps, video, web browser …)
Google published a free online comic to describe their approach to their browser, and say elsewhere that “What we really needed was not just a browser, but also a modern platform for web pages and applications, and that’s what we set out to build.”
In my own brief testing, Google Chrome seems to run fine, but I don’t see why I’d use it instead of Firefox.
Are you happy with your current web browser? Will you try Google Chrome, and what would it take to get you to switch? Post your current browser favorite in the comments and why you use it!

You are the second person that I know of that tried it this week and I would be really interested to hear from others to see what they think……I currently use Firefox primarily, but am not always happy with how it ‘thinks’. How do others feel?

When there is a claim of faster I’m game to check it out. It’s pretty bare bones but I’m sure that won’t be for long. Google may be fishing to see what kind of response they’ll get before they move ahead. But I think MS will see this as a serious threat as I see Google making there stuff work well in their browser with added features. This will be intesting to watch.

Hi you all, I’m really surprised by the performance of the Chrome browser. And found out after two days I’m not opening FireFox (only for using firebug to check and hack codes etc.).
I found out some “bugs”: Chrome is more strickt in using codes and scripts, so some websites will not load proper. I think Google will have this browser for a very long time in Bèta (so nobody can blaim them for failures) but that they will develop this browser ongoing.
One of my team had the idea that this very clean browser will be adopted more easily than the other browsers because of a lack of options (think of Firefox) or nobody understands the advantage (like Safari for Windows).
I’m happily surprised and have Google Chrome for now as default browser.
