The Lord, My Banner

“Moses built an altar and called it The LORD is my Banner.”
(Exodus 17:15)

When soldiers enter the battlefield with the flag of their country held high, they are declaring their loyalty to their land!

In the same way the Lord has posted His flag over us, His children. His banner of love speaks of His loyalty to us (Song of Songs 2:4). He will never leave us. He will never forsake us. He loves us with an everlasting love.

If you are a Christian, God’s banner, His flag, flies over you. He will be loyal to you every day of your life!? Yet God also calls us to do our part and to raise His flag as a sign of our allegiance to Him in every area of our lives.

He calls us to align our lives with all that His flag represents. God looks for the loyalty and allegiance of our hearts to Him as we work through our day. He looks for us to raise His flag as we consistently choose to do what we know He would have us do.

In the moment of victory after a hard battle, Moses declared,

“The LORD is my Banner???.? (Exodus 17:15)?

Moses could not take the territory without God’s help. He needed two friends to stand with him during the battle to help him keep the banner of the Lord high.

Is there an area in your life today where you are defeated and know you are not in alignment with how God would have you live? Then take action. You need not make that your permanent dwelling place.

No matter if it’s in your attitudes, actions, habits, relationships or any other area of life, God is loyal and desires to bring you to victory. He is your help and your? strength. He is your Banner. If you need help in consistently choosing God’s way in some particular area, get some friends to stand with you to pray with you. The Lord will lead you to victory. The battle may sometimes be intense but when you face it declaring Him as your banner, He will lead you to help and healing.

~Father God,

I want to raise Your flag higher in this particular area of my life today. I know You are powerful. I praise You for Your loyalty.? Thank you that You will not leave me alone in my struggle. I fly Your flag in my attitudes and my actions today. In the powerful name of Jesus’ I pray, amen.

We praise the name of the LORD our God!

“Moses built an altar and called it The LORD is my Banner.” (Exodus 17:15)

Today for the very first time, I was given “The LORD is my Banner” as a word for someon who is going through a very difficult time. Since I had never heard this given as a word to anyone before, I took the opportunity to look up the scriptures and was led to this article. What a blessing!
